Riyadh: In a groundbreaking partnership between Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) and Italy’s Arsenale Group, the Kingdom is poised to introduce a lavish train experience, aptly named ‘Dream of the Desert’. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked by Dr. Bashar bin Khaled Al-Malik, CEO of SAR, and Paolo Barletta, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arsenale Group. This collaboration is geared towards realizing a project that not only promises opulence but also contributes to the nation’s tourism aspirations.
Spanning 1,300 kilometers and connecting Riyadh to Al Qurayyat, the upcoming luxury train journey is a pivotal component of Saudi Arabia’s multifaceted approach to attract 150 million visitors by the close of the decade. With a substantial investment exceeding $800 billion in travel and tourism, the Kingdom aims to bolster its international standing.
The ‘Dream of the Desert’ will feature 40 sophisticated cabins meticulously crafted with “Saudi style and tradition” in mind. These cabins will set the stage for one or two-night trips, accommodating up to 82 passengers. The booking window for this indulgent experience is slated to open at the conclusion of 2024, offering a glimpse into the future of premium travel in the heart of Saudi Arabia.
