Los Angeles: Recent reports shed light on the challenges faced by Hollywood power couple Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who are set to invest a whopping $4 million to address issues plaguing their $20 million Los Angeles residence. While rumors circulated about the couple vacating their luxurious abode, a new revelation points to a mold infestation as the true culprit.
Despite acquiring their dream home in September 2019, the celebrity duo found themselves in a legal battle after deeming their residence “unlivable”. Court documents revealed that a lawsuit, filed in May 2023, outlined a series of problems with the pool and spa, including “porous waterproofing” leading to mold contamination since April 2020.
Water damage, described as “dangerous from a health perspective”, prompted the family of three to temporarily relocate. According to lawyer Fred Fenster, the property’s defects involve various contributors, making it challenging to identify the responsible party.
While confusion reigns over the blame game, it’s important to note that neither Nick nor Priyanka is the subject of any legal action.
The lawsuit asserts that damages incurred are “substantial and significant”, leading the couple to seek cancellation of the purchase and sale agreement. Priyanka and Nick are also pursuing compensation for “consequential damages”.
The estimated repair costs exceed $4 million, with waterproofing corrections projected to surpass $1.5 million and an additional $2.5 million earmarked for “general damages”.
Currently residing elsewhere, the couple’s lavish mansion boasts seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a spa, gym, chef’s kitchen, temperature-controlled wine room, indoor basketball court, bowling alley, home theatre, entertainment lounge, and a billiards room.
