Google Meet Introduces Dynamic AI-Enhanced Features for Engaging Video Calls

New York: Google has introduced three innovative features for its video communication service, Meet, aiming to transform mundane meetings into engaging and personalized experiences. These enhancements, already in the process of rolling out, promise a more dynamic interaction for users. Let’s delve into the details of these additions and explore how they elevate the overall meeting experience.

1. Multiple Video Effects

The first feature introduces a diverse array of video effects applicable on both web and mobile devices. Users can combine these effects with filters to create a dynamic and entertaining atmosphere during calls. A new layer icon on the self-view tile facilitates easy tracking of applied effects, allowing users to remove one or all effects effortlessly.

  • Backgrounds: Users can explore new backgrounds, including blurred backgrounds, uploaded personal backgrounds, and company-uploaded options.
  • Filters: Categorized filters, such as funny filters, accessories, costumes, and characters, provide users with a variety of creative options

2. Nailing The Professional Look With Studio Lighting

The second feature, integrated with Duet AI for Google Workspace Enterprise add-on, introduces studio lighting on the web. This allows users to simulate studio-quality lighting, providing control over position, brightness, and color for an optimal appearance. Eligible devices are required for the initial launch of this feature.

3. Audio Quality Enhanced With Studio Sound

Also available with the Duet AI for Google Workspace Enterprise add-on, this feature leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance audio quality. Specifically designed for web and dial-in meetings, it automatically recreates higher audio frequencies from typical Bluetooth headsets and dial-in participants. While currently available, it is anticipated to extend support to the mobile Meet app in the upcoming weeks.

These advancements showcase Google Meet’s commitment to delivering an enriched and immersive meeting environment, leveraging the power of AI for enhanced video and audio experiences.
